Philosophy
AFC is committed to individual player's development within the confines of well-organized team play. The ultimate objective is to have all players develop into a more rounded and complete soccer player. AFC will help players achieve their full potential in a Fun, Positive and Motivating atmosphere.
Our club motto, "You will player better Today than you did Yesterday, and almost as much as you will Tomorrow."
AFC Structure Programs:
- Youth Development Academies - ages U8-U10
Objective: Development of individual players footskills. Players participate in a program that emphasizes on the players ability to control the ball, implement moves, development foot speed and skills.
- Premier Development - ages U10-U12 (By selection only)
Objective: Program indentifies players with the potential of becoming premier soccer players and provide them with high-level training and professional coaching. The developmental program will serve as a stepping-stone in preparing players for the AFC program.
- Premier - ages U13-U19 (By selection only)
Objective: Program is dedicated to providing professional quality instruction. Our club goal at this level is to be one of the best, if not, the best Futebol Club in Connecticut. An established coach will head each team to continue the player and its team development. AFC are strongly focused on developing players within the team concept, in preparation of excelling at the High School, College and Professional Levels.
- U23 Teams (By selection only)
The teams are for fomer AFC players, current college players and juniors/senior in high with the opportunity to play matches during the months of June and July.
- WPSL – New England Mutiny (By selection only)
The team is comprised of former WUSA players and college players, current National Team Pool and college players, and local high school / premier soccer players.
AFC Season Objectives:
- Fall Season: (training twice a week)
U10-U12 will compete in the leagues organized by CJSA, as well as in and out-of-state tournaments.
U13 teams will enter into CJSA's Qualifying League to determine whether the team will compete in CJSA DI, II, or III, as well as in and out-of-state tournaments.
U14 teams will participate in CJSA league with any non-high school players. All players that are in high school as freshman will be expected to participate with their High School team unless they decide to play for AFC.

Winter Season:
AFC will provide each team a budget to use on expenses from November – March 31st. Team will be allowed to utilize the budget as they see fit for their respective team. E.G. Indoor Training, Winter League, Indoor/Outdoor Tournaments, Outdoors training, etc. Once budget is maximized, then the parents share all expenses. Any remaining balance after March 31st remains with the club

U10-U12 will compete in the leagues organized by CJSA, as well as in and out-of-state tournaments.
U13-U19 teams will participate in CJSA and/or Regional Leagues. The teams will also compete in the Connecticut Cup as well as in and out-of-state tournments.
